- Founded: 1844, in Geneva. The house has carried the name Bordier & Cie since 1895.
- Origins: Jaques Reverdin opened the original Geneva house in 1844. His son-in-law Ami Bordier joined in 1871, became a partner in 1888, and on Reverdin’s death in 1895 the partnership was renamed Bordier & Cie. See Heritage.
- Legal form: Société en Commandite par Actions (SCmA), adopted in 2020, preserving unlimited personal liability for the managing partners.
- Status: One of a small number of Swiss houses that qualify as a “private banker”.
- Balance sheet: Wholly dedicated to private banking. No outside shareholders. A strong, debt-free balance sheet with a Common Equity Tier 1 ratio of 30 per cent as at 31 December 2025, around three times the regulatory requirement.
