The two series
The two are not versions of each other. The Monday Report is a standing weekly scan across economics, bonds, equities, currencies and the Swiss market. The monthly insight leaves the news cycle alone and takes a single structural question, usually one where a physical constraint, a policy shift or a monetary change is reshaping an industry over years rather than weeks.
The monthly insight in 2026
The 2026 series has appeared every month since January and has run to eight issues by August. Subjects have spanned space, commodities, nuclear fuel, artificial intelligence infrastructure, the resources that infrastructure consumes, and the monetary order behind global energy trade. Six of them are summarised on this portal:The slow erosion of the petrodollar
The dollar stays central but becomes less exclusive.
Uranium, the strategic bottleneck
The constraint on a nuclear revival is fuel, not reactors.
The next AI bottleneck
The constraint has moved from chips to the system around them.
How thirsty is the AI industry
Freshwater is an overlooked constraint on data centres and chip plants.
Heavy assets, low obsolescence
AI adoption is running ahead of measured productivity.
The rise of gold
Central banks are still buying while no major new deposit is found.
What is on this portal, and what is not
These pages are abstracts, not reproductions. The bank distributes the full text of each issue to its own recipients, and the portal does not carry it. Each abstract sets out the argument and leaves out the positioning, the price levels and the single-security commentary that the original carries for a reader whose circumstances the bank already knows.
