# For family offices

> The entry point for single-family offices: investment governance, an outsourced CIO, consolidated reporting and private banking services.

Bordier works with families who already run a family office, families scaling one up, and families deciding whether to build one at all. This page is the entry point. The offering itself is set out on [Family Services](/solutions/family-services).

## The model

Bordier calls it a **modular outsourced single-family office**. The family stays in control of its office and its decisions, and the bank supplies the infrastructure, the expertise and the scale behind them. Services are taken one at a time or as a whole.

Two consequences matter when you are comparing it with building the function in-house. It requires no change to existing banking relationships and no new accounts. And it sits inside a regulated banking framework, with multi-custody capability and open architecture across asset classes.

## The four services

| | |
| - | - |
| Investment governance | An Investment Policy Statement written to the family's goals, an investment committee to apply it, and oversight of assets held across several banks, custodians and structures. |
| Outsourced chief investment officer | Bordier's investment team acting as the family's CIO function: strategic asset allocation, rebalancing, tactical action and periodic review. |
| Consolidated reporting | One view across bankable and non-bankable assets, in several jurisdictions and at several custodians, with normalised data and analytics. |
| Private banking services | Custody, cash management and liquidity, lending against the portfolio, and an advisory or discretionary mandate where the family wants one. |

Each is described in full on [Family Services](/solutions/family-services).

## Setting up in Singapore

Bordier & Cie (Singapore) Ltd holds a full banking licence, acts as the group's hub for Asia Pacific, and supports families through the process of establishing a family office in Singapore. See [Bordier in Singapore](/facts/singapore).

## Why the bank understands the problem

Bordier is a family business, owned and managed by the fifth generation of the family that founded it in 1844. It has run its own succession across five generations, which is the same problem its family-office clients are solving.
